Richard is known for his impressionist style in oil paintings, palette knife paintings and “line and wash” watercolor paintings. He began his formal training as an artist in 1952 at the University of Illinois, Chicago and continued at Purdue University.

The artist’s fifty plus years of formal training, continuing education, research and development, is an ongoing exploration of a wide variety of mediums used to develop various techniques and methods. This allows this artist to continue to define and redefine his modes of expression, develop specific areas applicable to this individual art form. He is a true master, extremely fluent in many mediums and highly accomplished in a diversity of techniques.
Richard translates his art and design abilities in a concise impressionistic manner that invokes rewarding connections. His artwork generates an interaction between the arts and the viewer speaking with deep understanding and truth.
