ARTIST Fernando Escartiz

Fernndo Escartiz - Marcelas Village - Art Gallery - San Francisco Bay Area

Fernando is an artist who draws, imagines, creates and produces most of the scenarios in the plays of the Casa Circulo Cultural organization.

Fernando is a multi-talented young artist. The Arts have been his passion since childhood. He has been assistant and student of Enrique Miralda, one of the most renowned sculptors in Mexico. Fernando has also been strongly influenced by his late friend Fernando Perez-Nieto, a Mexican sculptor who achieved great recognition both in his country and in Italy.

His inspiration stems from his obsessions, among which are travel, craftwork full of color and popular taste of his native Mexico and the deep observation of the world around him.

Travels, Fernando says, represent the marvelous possibility of encountering new textures, colors, shapes and feelings, elements that later blend into life with a sculpture, painting or stage.

Fernando is an artist who draws, imagines, creates and produces most of the scenarios in the plays of the Casa Circulo Cultural organization.

He designed with the help of volunteers at “Casa Circulo Cultural” giant “catrinas” to decorate the windows of the San Francisco Symphony Center.
Also this year he made a traditional representation of “vitrina” (Mexican traditional skulls representing people of different occupations), in this case the members of the San Francisco Symphony, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Day of the Dead Community Concert.
