ARTIST Ron Silzer

RON SILZER was born in Chicago and served in the Navy (attended navigation school, worked for the Admiral of the 7th fleet), moved to California after working in the finance and automobile industry. He helped revise a fixed base Piper aviation dealership at the Burbank airport. He retired in 2000.

In 2012 his girlfriend was diagnosed with cancer, she would often nap between 2-4 pm each day. Ron was always at her side.

One day they took a trip to Palm Springs where she could rest and enjoy the weather. She surprised Ron with some acrylic paint, brushes, and canvases. “Why not paint while I am napping” and this is how he started painting.

She passed away over three years ago and he still painting for the enjoyment of seeing people smile, and just for the fun of it!.
