ARTIST Igor Muskatblit

I use color and textures to represent objects, emotions, and the passing of time. I investigate these themes in the context of imperfect, revisionist and damaged human memory with the use of space being of secondary interest. My main concern always being the overall effect of the painting on the observer. I prefer figurative abstractions with a subtle suggestion of form to capture the viewer’s attention and draw him into a discussion, a dialog of sort with the painting and myself. I use a multi- layer approach to painting, where areas of the canvas are reworked several times to mirror the multiple influences of our lives
