Misako has been working on ceramics since 2000 after she and her family moved to the US 1997, on and off for more than 15 years.

When she was 20’s she was an apprentice at the one of the most historical Kimono studio specializing in stenciling (paper cutting) for two years.

There she was exposed to the magnificent beauty of Kimono world and learning the sophistication of design.

These years Misako pursues the beauty of wood fire. Her pieces are mostly wheel thrown porcelain and carved, then natural wood ashes produced during the firing process deposit onto her carved, textured surface, which makes various beautiful effects.
